This is a .STL file for 3D printing a mouse brain holder for use with high field strength preclinical MRI scanners.
The holder is designed to be printed in plastic and will fit inside a
50ml syringe. Note that there are
hinges / moving parts, which may influence how this is printed.
This design, by Yichao Yu and Simon Richardson, is used for securing up to 3 ex vivio perfuse-fixed mouse brains (in skull) within a 9.4T Agilent/Varian MRI scanner at the UCL Centre for Advanced Biomedical Imaging (CABI).
It is freely available to use (please cite our DOI:10.6084/m9.figshare.3394783 if you do!)
We have also released a 6-brain holder, an updated design, here: https://figshare.com/articles/CABI_Mouse_Brain_Holder/1290771 DOI:10.6084/m9.figshare.1290771
