This code was adapted from MATLAB code written by Dr. Bohnenstiehl at the Center for Marine Science and Technology at NCSU. Its purpose is to build a template kernel for use in the snapping shrimp detection algorithm. The audio file utilized in this code is included in the download (48 kHz/16 bit).

If you are making use of this code for your own purposes, you will need to determine your own kernel, as its shape will likely change under different recording parameters.
