Biomimetic replica of the upper epidermis of a gladiolus leaf

SEM image of an epoxy replica of the upper epidermis of a gladiolus leaf (Gladiolus communis) showing stomata and papillae (scale bar = 10 μm). The replica was obtained by a two-step moulding process. A first negative mould is obtained using a polyvinylsiloxane polymer and then a positive replica is created with an adequate epoxy resin.
