Beach seine bycatch in Oruwella Beach, Tangalle, Sri Lanka

Data Analysis

When the harvest was landed to the beach, the total biomass of each haul was estimated by counting the number of rigiform boxes where each box contains 35 kg of fish once it fully loaded and number of bycatch of each haul was estimated according to the type of the species

All the data were analyzed with Microsoft Excel 2010 and Minitab 16 statistical software. One way ANOVA test and Post hoc test were used to compare the total catch and total bycatch of different months. Subsequent differences were indicated with the mean ± standard deviation
