A Programme for the Development of Computational and Digital Research Capacity in South Africa and Africa - phase 1

The document is a summary of a proposal that was developed collaboratively to help build computational capacity amongst South African and African researchers as well as post graduate students. The proposal builds heavily on the work that has been done by Software Carpentry and Data Carpentry and incorporates the ideas of building communities where learners can be supported and experience further growth beyond their participation in once-off workshops. The community idea builds on work done by the Mozilla Science Lab - Study Groups.
