Tetra-n-butylammonium (TBA) (η⁶-biphenyl)diphenylferrate was formed unexpectedly in the reaction of (TBA)₂[Fe₄S₄Cl₄] with an excess of phenyllithium. This complex belongs to a novel type of organoferrate.
