Evaluating the irregularity of natural languages

Published on by Candelario Hernández Gómez
The Approximate Entropy (ApEn) method was modified to make it suitable to the study of natural languages. In particular, we present the corpus used in our work, the plots of the ApEn curves as functions of the m-grams for 45 texts (42 in European languages and three in Esperanto) and a linear discriminant analysis to show the separation of four families.
