An introduction to my understanding of the benefits trainees get from participating in a course, with a speed dating activity described to help trainees and trainers get to know each other better.
Presentation given by me (in PowerPoint and Keynote with images removed to reduce file size, and in PDF format with the full presentation) at the EMBO Practical Course on Computational Molecular Evolution in Crete, 2014, to introduce trainees to the importance of networking and building relationships with other trainees, and with the trainers, during a course, and how I consider that coming away from the course with these relationships of equal benefit to them as the knowledge/skills they gain from the teaching.
