These are the slides for the invited talk I gave at the PAGES Focus 4 Workshop at KU Leuven, Belgium, on February 4th, 2014. The aim of the presentation was to illustrate some ways in which lake sediment sequences can offer valuable data for better understanding past human impacts on the landscape.
