The related case report is only the tenth report of an esophagel perforation. This is a presenting sign of gastric cancer that is rarely the first sign of the disease. It is also the first case to be initially treated by endoscopic stenting and transluminal thoracoscopic drainage of the perforation and endoscopic stenting of the gastric outflow obstruction, as the video data presents.
The video consists of 7 minutes 27 seconds of clinical footage, including esophagogastroduodenoscopy with fluoroscopy displaying the distal esophagus perforation, pigtail catheter placement, stent placement and biopsies. The footage spans a period of 82 days from initial treatment. The individual parts of the procedures as identified within the video are outlined in the below timeline, along with the timing of the footage from initial admission and treatment.
