This is a collection of Jupyter Notebooks that demonstrate how to use the Dimensions and Altmetric APIs for flexible reporting and data visualization, using reproducible code.

The Altmetric Details Page - Counts Only API is available to use without a key or credentials, for research and tinkering purposes. If you plan to use Altmetric data in your day-to-day job (creating reports, making data visualizations to help drive decision-making, etc), we'd ask that you get in touch with us (info@altmetric.com) to discuss licensing our data for institutional use.

The Dimensions search API requires that your Dimensions account have API access enabled. To set up these notebooks with your credentials:

1) Add your Dimensions username and password to the DSL.properties file

2) Make sure your Dimensions account has been granted API access

If you run into problems, contact us at support@dimensions.ai to confirm whether you have API access associated with your account. If you need access, we can discuss options for trial access or licensing our data.

All other content shared in this Jupyter workbook is based on open source technologies. The easiest way to install Jupyter and the Python packages you'll need is to download Anaconda: https://www.anaconda.com/distribution/
