Attack, related to Figure 1C. C45 and C59 attacked C58. A fourth bird C29 joined the scene. C29 first called loudly and repeatedly pecked one of the aggressors (C59). Subsequently C29 pulled on the other attacker’s (C45) wings and pecked. Finally, C29 flew up and down the aviary calling loudly with the effect that C59 stopped attacking the victim and approached C29. After a few seconds, however, C59 returned to join C45 in pecking veraciously on C58’s head. Eventually C58 escaped the two attackers.
