Nested Phoenix

Published on by André Stephan
Nested Phoenix is a research project aimed at delivering the next generation engine for an integrated life cycle assessment and material stocks and flows analysis of the built environment. Nested Phoenix uses a bottom-up approach to model the built environment, from door handles, to window frames, to partition walls, structure, sidewalks, squares, parks, neighbourhoods and cities. Coupled to geographical information systems, Nested Phoenix enables a spatialised LCA and MFA of a built stock at unprecedented resolution. Nested Phoenix will enable decision-making related to retrofitting, urban mining, urban design and planning and the circular economy. Nested Phoenix benefits from an international team of experienced researchers from different disciplines. Visit http://nestedphoenix.com/ for more details
