Nested Phoenix

Published on by André Stephan
Nested Phoenix is a research project aimed at delivering the next generation engine for an integrated life cycle assessment and material stocks and flows analysis of the built environment. Nested Phoenix uses a bottom-up approach to model the built environment, from door handles, to window frames, to partition walls, structure, sidewalks, squares, parks, neighbourhoods and cities. Coupled to geographical information systems, Nested Phoenix enables a spatialised LCA and MFA of a built stock at unprecedented resolution. Nested Phoenix will enable decision-making related to retrofitting, urban mining, urban design and planning and the circular economy. Nested Phoenix benefits from an international team of experienced researchers from different disciplines. Visit for more details
