GCLAD measurement of air properties

Published on by Jami Johnson
Measurement of the speed of sound and attenuation coefficient in air. Laser-ultrasound waves are generated on tape on a solid tissue phantom, and the waves are recorded in air with Gas-Coupled Laser Acoustic Detection (GCLAD) on the opposite side of the phantom. The distance between the phantom surface and GCLAD is varied. The frequency-dependent attenuation coefficient and speed of sound in air are calculated with Python.
