Behind the Search Bar — Zine & Print Pack
This collection includes a digital zine and a printable version created as part of the Design Justice module in the Human-Computer Interaction Master’s program at City, University of London (2025).
The project explores how Google's early innovations—particularly the PageRank algorithm—laid the groundwork for surveillance capitalism, where user data is quietly extracted and monetized. Using frameworks from Design Justice and Data Feminism, the zine critically reflects on the social impacts of data-driven technologies and calls for more transparent, user-centered alternatives.
Included in this collection:
- A digital zine (PDF)
- A print-ready version (PDF) with cut-and-fold instructions
