Biomechanical dataset of stooped work (sheep shearing) in Australia
This is a biomechanics dataset of 11 Australian sheep shearers in a real workplace setting. The dataset is provided with a publication in Scientific Data (Nature) titled "A lower-back focused motion capture and electromyography dataset of Australian sheep shearers at work" by Mark Robinson, Tomislav Bacek, Ying Tan, Denny Oetomo, and Chris Manzie.
Data on participants’ movement, muscle activity, and self-reported fatigue were recorded throughout an entire 8-hour working day, divided into four 2-hour sessions.
The dataset encompasses a wide range of experiences, including shearers with prior back injuries and those using back support harnesses.
The dataset has raw motion capture and electromyography data in a .csv (text) format, as well as motion capture in .csv (text) and proprietary Xsens format (.mvnx).
