BE: Empowering Each Other: Building a Supportive Scientific Community Over 10 Years

The Building Engagement program began at SIAM CSE15 as a way to bring more students to the conference and the CSE community. In commemoration of the 10th anniversary, this mini-symposium features presentations by alumni of the program. Each speaker will discuss their current research/professional interests, as well as their pathway since participating in BE, and the importance of creating a scientific community for all. A broad swath of participants from the earlier and more recent programs and from different academic disciplines and levels at the time of their participation will be included. Established alumni professionals and researchers will come together to share their research and experiences while encouraging others to create supportive scientific communities.
