I am Tshisimogo Lesley Leepang, a resident of New Xade but originally from Metseamanong (CKGR). I hold a Master of Arts(African Languages and Literature) as well as a Bachelor of Arts(Humanities) majoring in African Languages and Literature from University of Botswana. I am currently pursuing Mphil/PhD in African Languages and Literature at the University of Botswana. i am affiliated to the San Research Centre at the University of Botswana.
I am an employee of Tribal Administration, under Ministry of Local Government and Tribal Affairs -Botswana, where i work as a principal Translator, but currently on a 2 years unpaid study leave. My seven years of legal translation (from Setswana language into English language) have transformed me into a global legal translator.
I am competent in various languages namely, English, Setswana, Shekgalagadi and three major Khoe-Kwadi languages, namely, G||ana, G|ui and Naro. Importantly six years of research training, conference presentations, and mentoring by a team of internationally recognized scholars specializing in Khoisan languages, encompassing professors at the University of Botswana as well as Fulbright scholars, have transformed me into a global linguist with considerable experience in fieldwork, language documentation, description and preservation.
