I am Thato Moahi, a Videographer/Photographer at the Botswana National Museum and Monuments since 2008. I am driven by passion for the art of Motion Picture and Photography. I love light. Illumination reveals colour, defines contours, exposes texture, creates mood and presents the beauty of nature and synthetics of the world, that most eyes appreciate. I love the camera for its ability to freeze the moment, in motion and still, a moment that we can revisit overtime. My work at the Museum entails Photo and video documenting artefacts for the Archaeology and Ethno-History divisions, specimen for the Natural History division, Field research, Exhibitions, National Monuments, Museum events, Ministry of Environment and Tourism events, Heritage/Historical events and also producing Public Service Announcements and Heritage documentaries. I am dedicated to the art of film and photography in communicating the correct message, I love team work and become resourceful in challenges, I'm open-minded, reliable and ambitious. I want to continue to tell the story of our past through photography of our monumental landscapes, Traditional artefacts and share our History and intangible heritage through re-enacted documentaries. As I produce, I learn "The capacity to learn is a gift, the ability to learn is a skill; the willingness to learn is a choice" - Brian Herbert. I will choose to learn always.
