Silja MetsOja

Head of Health Education Center

Estonia

I have been working at Tallinn Health Care College, Estonia, since 2005. I started as a midwife lecturer and head of the Chair of Midwifery in 2005 and in 2017 started as a Head of the Education Center in the same institution. I worked as a community midwife from 1995 to 2020 and I hold a Master's degree in educational science. My research interests include midwifery education, maternity care and the functioning of the health system in general. As a PhD student at the School of Governance, Law and Society, in Tallinn University, Estonia, my doctoral thesis focuses on the challenges and opportunities of health care restructuring in obstetrics at community and individual levels.
