Roshan Hall
Undergraduate veterinary student (Veterinary immunology; Immunology; Infectious agents)
Liverpool, UK
ā3rd-year undergraduate veterinary student with a deep-seated interest in viral immunology, a strong academic record and research experience beyond the requirements of my course.ā
During my time at university, I have become fascinated by infectious diseases, how to study them, and more specifically the immunological response of the host to disease. I have explored this passion through my own reading and a summer research project on cross-reactive humoral immunity to flaviviruses, further confirming my interest in this topic. I have gained additional research experience in bacteriology and epidemiology, which has deepened my understanding of the nature of academic work. I have presented original research to Fellows of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and am year-lead for the Academy of Medical Sciences-funded INSPIRE program, where I have been heavily involved in public engagement events.
I hope to eventually undertake an AVMA residency in Immunology within the ACVM, and to conduct research to advance the field of infection immunology throughout my career. I am driven to build my research portfolio in the meantime both in order to make this happen, and simply because research is something that I have found that I love doing.
