I am a Professor of Medical Applications of Design and Acting Dean of Loughborough Design School. I also founded and am a member of the Design for Digital Fabrication research group (D4DF). http://www.lboro.ac.uk/departments/lds/research/groups/d4df/ My teaching concentrates on final year design and postgraduate programmes. I supervise undergraduate Final Year Design Practice and postgraduate Major Projects. The focus of my research is the effective application of design and advanced product development technologies in medicine and surgery. Other research interests include Design for Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) and the development of Additive Manufacturing materials and processes for medical and rehabilitation applications. My specialist areas of expertise are Rapid Prototyping, 3D Printing, Additive Manufacturing, and in particular the application of these technologies in rehabilitation, medicine and surgery.
