Dr. Munyaradzi Elton Sagiya received his PhD in Archaeology from the University of Zimbabwe (Harare) in 2022. He is a Lecturer and Acting Chairperson of the Department of Culture and Heritage Studies at Bindura University of Science Education in Zimbabwe. Previously, he was a Curator and Head of the Research and Conservation Centre at Great Zimbabwe World Heritage Site. Munyaradzi is an editorial board member of the Journal of the Institute of Conservation. In 2020, he won the Young Professionals Forum Emerging Skills for Cultural Heritage award, organized by the Centre for Conservation and Restoration, "La Venaria Reale", Italy. He is a Principal Investigator for the British Museum's Endangered Material Knowledge Programme, a research project aimed at documenting the knowledge, skills and practices of dry-stone masonry at Great Zimbabwe.
