A brief is a concise update or summary tailored for an audience that already has foundational knowledge of the subject.
It focuses on key points, findings, or developments without extensive background explanations. In contrast, an
academic/research paper is a comprehensive document that provides detailed analysis, methodology, context, and
references, often assuming the reader needs a full explanation of the topic.
I post briefs because I am not a researcher or academic. That's not my world.
My work may be used for research, but proper credit must be given: Mu Meson and a link to a specific brief on
Figshare. Generally, this depends on the amount a derivative work relies on my work. Therefore, "credit" can range from an acknowledgement to co-authorship. If "proper credit" is unclear, then contact me with the details of the project and I
will provide clarification. Commercial use of my work is strictly prohibited. In such cases, contact me with the details of
the project and an appropriate offer.
