Morteza Shiri earned a Ph.D. in organic chemistry under the supervision of Prof. M. A. Zolfigol from faculty of chemistry, college of Bu-Ali Sina University, Hamedan, Iran. He held his MSc. in organic chemistry, from faculty of chemistry, college of Shiraz University, Shiraz ,Iran. He received his BSc in applied chemistry, from Faculty of chemistry, college of Bu-Ali Sina University, Hamedan, Iran. He joined Alzahra University (Tehran) where he was promoted to associate professor in 2014. In 2014, Morteza Shiri was the director of the Technology Incubator Center and then in 2016 he was appointed Vice President of Research at Alzahra University until 2018. In 2018 he established the company MChemGB. In Feb. 2019–Jan. 2020, he joined Prof. K. A. Jørgensen’s group for a sabbatical at Aarhus University (Denmark). Morteza Shiri is a Fellow of the Iranian Chemical Society, National Elites Foundation, and Iran Science Elites Federation. He is also scientific advisor to the Pakshoo Industrial
