Mercedes Rosello

Senior Lecturer in Law (M - Law)

Bridge House, Brayford Campus

My research seeks to understand how weaknesses in the law contribute to governance problems in regions where overfishing is chronic. Currently I am exploring the legal architectures of places where rule of law weaknesses converge with small-scale fishers experiencing difficulties in stock management participation and loss of access to key resources. I am also interested in seafood custody chain traceability, the regulation of human activities that impact on cetaceans, and the rationale and tools for the criminalisation of marine fishing activities.
