I am a biologist born in Fortaleza, Ceará state, Northeastern Brazil. I undertook my undergraduate course on Biological Sciences at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) from 2002 to 2007, where I studied the urban forestry of my city. I also undertook a masters degree (2007-2009) on Development and the Environment at the same university, when I studied a vegetation fragment within the urban matrix of Fortaleza. I am PhD in Plant Biology (2009-2013) by the State University of Campinas (São Paulo, Brazil), where I studied biogeographical patterns in the Caatinga dry forests. I am currently a adjunct professor at Federal University of Ceará, where I teach Biodiversity, Biogeography and Vegetation Sciences at the Labomar Institute. I work with urban forestry and urban biodiverstiy, phytosociology, floristic surveys, ecology and biogeography.
