Leon de Bruin is an educator, performer and researcher in jazz, improvised and composed music. A trumpet/brass educator, jazz and band director, he presents at national and international conferences, and performs improvised contemporary and baroque works.
He is a PhD Candidate in the Faculty of Education, Monash University and his dissertation includes teaching and learning of improvisation, cognitive processes, creativity and collaborative learning techniques for improvisors and Jazz history.
