Kiran Bavirisetti

Research Scientist (Chemical sciences)

Hyderabad. India

Personal Statement I, Venkat Kiran Bavirisetti, a Doctoral graduate from the Department of Chemistry, GITAM University, Visakhapatnam, India. I recently successfully defended my thesis which is focussed on pharmaceutical analytical chemistry on 05th-April 2014. I aspire to Quality and Analytical Scientist at your esteemed organisation and the motivation came from my research experience in divergent research domains such as Analytical chemistry, Supramolecular Chemistry, Pharmaceutical chemistry and Drug Research and Development. After my Master’s (April, 2006), I got selected in Aurobindo Pharma Ltd (APL) through a campus recruitment, where I worked on Analytical development of many block buster drugs such as Efavirenz, Zidovudine, Duloxitine HCl, Abacavir sulfate and Sitagliptan to name a few and there after performed their associated Quality control operations. During this tenure I faced all regulatory audits such USFDA, MHRA, TGA, WHO, KFDA and ANVISA confidentally. Obtained strong technical background and good level of understanding both in theory and practice simultaneously in chemical and instrumental method of analysis. Later on I changed to two other pharmaceutical companies namely, RAKS pharmacutical Ltd and Crystaline Research Pvt Ltd. During my tenure as pharmaceutical analytical scientist, I had practical domain knowledge regarding operation, calibration of all major anlytical instruments such as HPLC/ HPLC-MS, XRD, pH, Melting, DSC, Polarimeter, KF-titrature, Auto titrator, FTIR, UV-Visible spectro photometry .. Etc. Most importantly, staff scientists with which I was involved inspired me with a high level of motivation to pursue higher education, the PhD in chemistry. During years of doctoral degree (2010-14), I was selected in two poster award in international conferences held at Udipur and Nellore respectively. Beside I was appreciated for my efforts to bring my company and university On the other hand, I have voluntary teaching experience. I carried out mentorship programme for pharmacy and chemistry Master’s students especially in their project work. Teaching has not only escalated my subject insight and the ability to explain but also perturbed the dormant pedagogue inside me. To diversify my research, I joined and am presently working in Prof. Ashwini Nangia’s research laboratory, Crystalin Research Pvt. Ltd. (a DSIR recognized research lab), Technology Business Incubator (TBI), University of Hyderabad campus. The company focuses on exploring novel solid forms to enhance the physicochemical properties of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) through polymorphs, salts, co-crystals, eutectics and solid dispersions. Novel solid forms of Temozolomide and Curcumin are currently ongoing major projects in our laboratories. Presently, I am working on the solubility improvement of Ezetimibe, Rilpivirine and Clotrimazole projects, of which few are in manuscript preparation stage. For our project needs, I handled FT-IR & Raman, UV, NMR and Mass spectra, TGA and DSC, Freeze and Spray Dryer, Powder and Single crystal XRD and HPLC as analytical tools. Finally, I believe that I possess the motivation, intellectual ability and preparation to go in for long and professional career, which demand personal commitment to the fulfilling craft of independent research that involves willingly making personal sacrifices of time, leisure and immediate reward. In this regard, I promise you that I will carry over the same enthusiasm and skill towards research. Even though my broad area of research is in analytical chemistry, I am equally competent in Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs since I enjoyed a long tenure in regulatory pharma environment. I hope to get ample chance to work in this Esteemed Organisation. Primarily, I am looking forward to work with an organisation-team, where her/his work involves separation, analysis, characterization and its broad applications in regulatory environment which involves submissions of Dossiers / ANDA, DMF,. Being part of such a research environment always instigates me to work and learn more. I sincerely wish to add value to the organisation with full dedication and I would be highly obliged if you consider my application and give me a chance for either Analytical and Regulatory and Quality Control departments. I am enclosing my Curriculum Vitae for your kind perusal and looking forward to an opportunity to present my skills and capabilities in person. Positively expecting a favourable response from your end. With regards, Dr. B.V.Kiran
