Her journey into this field was preceded by nearly a decade in universities, specializing in academic libraries, scholarly publishing, research reporting, open access, researcher engagement, and information and knowledge management.

Driven by a passion for simplifying research information management, Kate holds an MA in Information and Knowledge Management from the University of Technology, Sydney (2013). Her impact was further recognized in 2016 when she received a Library Journal Movers & Shakers award for co-founding the International Librarians Network, a global peer mentoring program that supported over 5,500 participants across 130 countries.
