Dr. Kalu Obasi Kalu is a native of Achara Ihechiowa in Arochukwu LGA of Abia State. He was born in 1973, and He attended his primary education at Diogukwu Memorial School, Achara Ihechiowa in Eleoha. He was also a pupil at St. Patrick Primary School, Ajassor in Etung LGA, Teacher's Training School, Ikom. His quest for knowledge further took him to the Federal College of Education Obudu in Obanliku LGA, all in Cross River State. He then proceeded to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he obtained (B.Ed in English. One would have expected him to rest, but no! His quest for more knowledge led him to obtain a Bachelor of Law (LLB), from the Faculty of Law, University of Calabar, Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. and was called to the BAR by the Nigerian Law School. He is a practicing lawyer and a Senior Lecturer at the Department of English and Literary Studies, University of Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. Before his appointment as a senior lecturer at the University of Calabar, Dr Kalu Obasi Kalu had served as a lecturer at Veritas University (The Catholic University of Nigeria ), Abuja, where he rose to the rank of lecturer 1. He also served as Head of Department (HoD) of English and Literary Studies from 2016 to 2018. At Veritas University, he served as a volunteer visiting Lecturer at the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) from 2018 to 2020. He has authored many books, including the following: The Diary of a Traveler (2025), In the Phase of Trouble (2025), and The Iconoclasts (2016). He has published in reputable peer-reviewed journals both locally and internationally. KOK, as he is fondly called, is a man of integrity and discipline. He is married to his heartthrob, and the marriage is blessed with children
