Helen Newall is a Professor of Theatre Praxis at Edge Hill University, and a playwright, photographer and installation artist. She has written for Theatre in the Quarter; The Southampton Nuffield Theatre; Chester Gateway Theatre; HTV Television Workshop; and The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. Her work has been performed in the Millennium Dome; Chester Cathedral; Bristol Cathedral; and Hampton Court Palace. She has installed work at Picton Castle, Pembrokeshire; Narberth Museum; Chester Military Museum; Pound Arts, Wiltshire; and the Morecambe Variety Festival. She researches photographic methods; photographic documentation; and commemoration in performance. She is a co-contributing editor of The Road to Somewhere for Palgrave Macmillan.
