Hanieh Bazyar

Assistant professor (tenure track) (Environmental Biotechnology; Biomedical Engineering; Chemical Engineering)

Delft

I did my PhD at University of Twente, group of Soft matter, Fuidics and Interfaces (SFI), on developing a novel type of membrane called "slippery liquid-infused membranes" for oily wastewater (produced water) treatment. This work consisted of both fundamental and applied studies. Currently, I'm an assistant professor (tenure track) at TU/Delft, department of Process and Energy. My new research work is focused on developing fully sustainable membranes for separation applications as well as novel separation-sensing devices. My research interests are: - Developing novel membranes for gas separation applications and wastewater treatment - Microfluidic design and experiments - Interface science and wetting properties of surfaces - Two phase flow and immiscible displacement in porous media - Acoustophoresis and electrophoresis of oil droplets in surfactant solutions
