Filip Świerczyński is a PhD candidate in Literary Studies at the University of Warsaw and holds an MA in Russian Philology from the same institution. His doctoral research focuses on the (meta)futurological thought of Aldous Huxley and Stanisław Lem, especially in the context of contemporary scientific and technological developments.
His academic interests include futurology, science fiction and cosmic horror studies, narratology, Russian and English literatures, and the works of Aldous Huxley, Stanisław Lem, Franz Kafka, Nikolai Gogol, and H.P. Lovecraft.
His scholarly work has been published in Poland, Scotland, Japan, Russia, and Germany. He has received scholarships from the University of Warsaw (2016, 2024), Samara National Research University (2018), and the Centre for Polish-Russian Dialogue and Understanding (2019, 2020).
He currently serves as Chairman of the SSC for Cooperation and Dialogue with the East at the University of Warsaw (2023–present; previously a member, 2019–2023); Chairman of the Management Board of the international academic journal Mirgorod: The Annual of the History & Epistemology of Contemporary Literary Studies (2024–present); and editor of two publishing series: Spicilegium Slavicum (IKRiBL, Siedlce; 2021–present) and Ad Fontes (IKRiBL, Siedlce; 2022–present).
He is also a member of the Aldous Huxley Society (University of Münster; 2021–present) and The International Academic Forum (IAFOR, Osaka University; 2021–present). In addition to his academic work, he is an aspiring translator of Russian and English poetry and engages in literary writing.
