Eamonn Maguire

D.Phil Student, Computer Science
At present, I am carrying out a D.Phil (PhD) at Oxford University in Computer Science where I focus on visualisation. I am also the lead software engineer in the ISA project (http://isatab.sf.net). Eamonns background is in Computer Science and Bioinformatics. He has previously worked at EMBL-EBI where he led the development of the ISA infrastructure project and coordinated institute wide sessions on Human-Computer Interaction, visualization and aesthetics. Before that, he spent time at CERN in Geneva working on visualizations of the reliability of computing nodes on the Large Hadron Collider’s (LHC) grid computing network. My primary interests are in creating novel user interfaces as well as employing visualisation as a method to explain data to users, especially biologists.
