Research Scientist (Biological sciences; Microbiology; Animal cell and molecular biology)

My research interests focus on unravelling the molecular interactions which occur in the crosstalk between bacteria and their human hosts. I have investigated how human cells respond to commensal bacteria, as well as how pathogenic bacteria respond to their hosts at the molecular level. Currently, I study the effects of food and food ingredients on host-bacterial interactions in the human gut, and how these interactions impact intestinal barrier function.
