Dr. Bonginkosi A. Thango obtained his Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Electrical Engineering in 2017 at the Tshwane University of Technology, South Africa. In 2019, he was awarded Cum Laude for Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) at the same University. In 2021, he further completed his Doctor of Engineering (D.Eng.) degree from the same University. He is professionally registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a professional Engineering Technologist. He is also a Member of the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers (SAIEE, Member). In 2024 he was awarded a Y2 NRF-rated Researcher rating for his contributions in the field of engineering. In 2022 he joined the University of Johannesburg as a Lecturer and in 2024 he was also appointed as a Senior Lecturer. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Metaheuristics, Predictive Maintenance and Renewable Energy.
