Born into the 70s, Don originated from Malaysia and is an illustrator, artist, graphic designer and aspiring academic. He has been creating art largely attributed to the bear sub-culture since 2005. Don’s illustration work lends itself to the discourse of the eroticised appeal of larger gay male form – bringing into attention the concepts of homomasculinity, body politics, belonging, and identity. While his major artistic influences are from the areas of comics and graphic novels, Don’s design and research framework are underpinned by the tenets of modern positivism and reflective practice. As Senior Lecturer at Media Design School, Don teaches in the Bachelor of Media Design and the Graduate Diploma of Creative Technologies (at Level 7) where his specialist areas are in media design, user experience and storytelling.
