My name is Daria and I am a Plant Biologist. I started my career with my B.Sc and M.Sc in Germany & did my theses on mitochondrial transporters.
After finishing my studies, I went to Michigan, USA for half a year, working on trichomes & acylsugars in tomato. The next step was to start my PhD in Umeå Sweden. There I worked on leaf senescence in Arabidopsis & the role of mitochondria during this process.
I finished my PhD in summer 2018 & since then I started my journey to become a Scientific Illustrator and opened my company DC SciArt in 2019. Since I can remember, I have always loved Science & Art! During my PhD I realised that it actually is important to combine those two together! I really love to have the scientific part combined with my artistic skills For me it is a great joy & fulfilment to make other people happy with the illustrations I provide to them!
