Behavioural ecology

Sydney, Australia

I explore the foraging and behavioural ecology of mammalian herbivores – how and what they manage to eat while they avoid being eaten; in other words: how they interact with plants and predators in the world around them. My two current research interests are in understanding (1) how the personality of herbivores shapes their ecology – their foraging behaviour, diet, problem-solving capacity and decision-making style, and (2) how herbivores use information from ecological cues such as plant odour to increase their foraging efficiency. I am an Academic in the School of Life & Environmental Sciences at the University of Sydney.
