My fascination with the dialectic between language and social dynamics directs my interest in the research areas of Linguistic Landscape Studies, Language Policy and Planning, and Toponomy (including Signed Toponymy), as well as the intersections between them. Currently I am the team lead of 'Survey of South African Sign Language Place Names', a component of a collaborative project, 'Advancing SASL for 4IR Technological Development Using Place Names'.
