I'm an assistant professor at the University of Warwick. I'm interested in researching the spread of news and events through social media, and especially in the role of citizen journalists in news reporting. Some of my recent research has dealt with curation, verification, and classification of newsworthy pieces of information shared on social media, involving computational research in fields like text mining, natural language processing, and social computing, but also including an interdisciplinary point of view from social sciences such as journalism and psychology.
