Anvita Dixit

Research Scientist (Public health not elsewhere classified)

Anvita is a Postdoctoral Fellow in interdisciplinary health sciences at the University of Ottawa, Canada working with the National Abortion Federation contributing to research on demedicalizing medication abortion. She is a PhD graduate in Public Health from the joint doctoral program at University of California San Diego and San Diego State University where her dissertation examined women’s decision-making agency and family planning behaviors in India. She trained as a Predoctoral Fellow at the Center on Gender Equity and Health, UCSD, where she worked in areas of gender equity measures and family planning and intervention using male involvement. Before her PhD, she carried out reproductive health research at the Population Council in India. She earned her BSc in Psychology and Sociology, and MSc in Health Psychology from the University of Sussex, UK.
