Andreas Flouris

Associate Professor (Health sciences)

Trikala, Greece

Dr Flouris is an Associate Professor with the Department of Exercise Science at the University of Thessaly, Greece, and a Visiting Professor in Environmental Medicine with the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Ottawa, Canada. At the University of Thessaly, he is also the Chair of the Graduate Program “Military Fitness and Wellbeing” as well as a member of the University's Council for Research, Innovation, and Excellence. In addition, he is an External Advisory Board Member for the Department of Biosystems at KU Leuven in Belgium. For over 15 years, Andreas has advised governments and international organizations, including the Cypriot Presidency, the Greek Ministry of Labour, and the Qatari Ministry of Labour, the World Health Organization, the International Labour Organization, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, the European Space Agency, and NASA, on the health effects of climate change and environmental factors, and on environmental sustainability.
