Abel Gomes took a BSc degree (5 years) in electrical engineering and a MSc in computer graphics at University of Coimbra, Portugal. He also obtained a PhD degree in geometric modeling at Brunel University, England. His current research interests include computer graphics, geometric modeling, multiresolution models, implicit curves and surfaces, pathfinding in games, computational biology and chemistry, molecular modeling and graphics, and medical imaging.
Currently he is Associate Professor in Computer Graphics and Games and Vice-Director of Instituto de Telecomunicações at University of Beira Interior, Portugal.
