This practice-based PhD integrates artistic practice, technology, and academic research to investigate the emergent nature of identity. Explored through the creation of two artefacts: i) an interactive virtual reality work built using point clouds of the artist’s home called What Homes are Made of: The Architecture of Displacement and ii) a novel interactive, technological choir of 16 singers called Transhuman Ansambl, the research proposes an aesthetic framework for working with remote sensing technologies and point clouds as a new visual language in digital art and an innovative way to preserve, transmit, and re-imagine intangible cultural heritage through technology.
