Hefty Hardware Savvy Program

In this article, the author describes the importance of the relationship between information technology and business units in an organization. McKeen (2015) explains a Hefty hardware case study with two research questions that are interlinked to each other. First, the article lists the significant shortcomings of the Hefty organization. Then, the author briefly explains each shortcoming along with the possible solution to create a plan for the Savvy store program, and how business and IT department can work collaboratively. The reader learns about the shortcomings and the scattered communication channels of Hefty Hardware. They also learn about the leadership skills which affect the organization in various ways. The article concludes with suggestions and modifications that are needed in an organization like the Hefty store to improve the relationship between different teams and the leadership. Although the article has used the positions and the names of the persons, the conclusion benefits to any organization, so the article will use the names very limited and focus only on organizational improvement.
