Factors Affecting Community Participation in Ecotourism Programs: A Case Study of Communities in Padawan District, Sarawak

This study explores the factors that affects community participation and the level of community participation in Community Based Ecotourism in Padawan, Sarawak. The study was conducted on six selected villages in Padawan district namely Kampung Sadir, Kampung Giam Danu, Kampung Annah Rais, Kampung Semadang and Kampung Benuk. These six villages are among the villages in Padawan that have ecotourism potential and availability. The outcome of this research will benefit the local community (ecotourism providers, village committee and villagers) in Padawan district and also policymakers (government, non-governments (NGOs) and investors).
