This Ph.D. thesis investigates the role of human values in the design of Mixed-Reality (MR) experiences. It advances understanding in this area through three main contributions: (1) a review of how human values are addressed in MR-related literature, (2) the development of a workshop method for exploring human values in envisioned MR futures, and (3) the creation of a value-based design process for embedding values into MR design practices. Overall, this research addresses the growing need for MR experiences that are not only technically sophisticated but also human-centred and ethically grounded.
