This work uses a technique called scanning electrochemical cell microscopy to develop the structure-function of noble metal electrocatalysts. Firstly, this includes the relationship between crystallite orientation and multiple catalytic processes on polycrystalline platinum. Additionally, a large number of single gold nanoparticles, and nanoparticle clusters, are measured for their activity for the borohydride oxidation reaction.
